SLCC Faculty and Staff Resources

Career Services at Salt Lake Community College is here to support you and your students. Below are ways in which we can support you:

We understand that coming in to our office is not feasible for all students. Our website and job board Handshake has career resources for students ranging from job and internship opportunities both on and off campus, a career video library, career assessments like Focus 2 Career and serves as an appointment software. Using Handshake is a great first step in feeling confident towards ones' educational path.
  • Encourage or require your students to attend our Job Fairs. We track all attendees and can send a list of who attended.
  • Have your students book an appointment in Handshake to go over resumes, cover letters, job/Internship search and mock interviews.

While we are happy to present to your students in the classroom, we also know that faculty are busy. We created a Career Services Canvas page with pre-recorded presentations on our most popular topics as well as resources for students to use. Please click here for our canvas page.

Please note that the Canvas page will be updated regularly with new content

Stop by Career Services at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus to select complimentary professional clothing, shoes, and accessories for that important interview, career fair, or first day on the job!

  • Location STC 002
  • Hours- Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

Career Services is always taking lightly worn in style clothing donations. Feel free to drop by our office to donate your items. We take clothing, shoes, and accessories!

Encourage your students to book ahead using Handshake. Booking in advance allows your students to have dedicated time with a Career Coach to get their assignment done successfully.

Handshake is where we house all on and off campus jobs and Internships. Students can find work-study, CIP and all other on-campus positions in Handshake. For more information on work-study and CIP go here: Bruin Works On-campus Employment
